The Great Human Operating Manual
I often wish people arrived with instruction manuals.
Not because we would stop hurting one another.
Perhaps simply because we would hurt each other less accidentally.
Imagine opening the first page.
Congratulations on your human.
Please note that this model occasionally mistakes criticism for rejection.
This model requires rest even when convinced productivity is more important.
Extended periods without genuine connection may result in loneliness despite apparent success.
Please remember that tears are not evidence of weakness.
Neither is asking for help.
Some humans process emotions by speaking.
Others process by becoming quiet.
Neither is wrong.
Both deserve patience.
Science spends decades trying to understand why we think, love and behave the way we do.
I find that incredibly romantic. Not because it removes mystery. Because it tells me people are worth studying with tenderness instead of judgment.
Maybe understanding another person has never been about solving them.
Maybe it has always been about reading them with enough compassion that they no longer feel like a puzzle. Perhaps that is what all of us have quietly wanted from the very beginning.
Not to be fixed, Simply to be understood.
